Lafayette Sr High School
Class of 1967
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Who's Interested in a Joint Lafayette-Tates Creek Class of 1967 Cruise in 2019?

It's been nearly a year since our last reunion.  More of us have retired, several have moved, and sadly a few more classmates have passed. Several people last year at our 50th, expressed interest in a cruise to celebrate the year most of us turn 70 since it will be another 4 years from now before we are scheduled for our next reunion.

With the ideas of keeping the timing similar to our usual reunion dates (late July) and keeping costs as low as possible (ability to drive to port of departure for many classmates, and short cruise length of 3-5 days), we've come up with three choices.  Royal Caribbean's quotes were the lowest of any cruise line we researched (except Carnival).  A minimum of 8 cabins is required to hold this group rate, but the travel agent will hold more into 2019 if we can commit to 8 cabins now.  The travel agent expects to be able to negoitiate some shipboard credits for tours, or ammenties and a wine and cheese event for our group.  A rebate of several hundred dollars for every 8 cabins sold will be made to our Class of '67 checking account, in lieu of a free cabin(s) to anyone in our group.

Late July and early August has a low chance of hurricanes, with most hurricane actifvity for Florida in late August and September.  Cruise ships for groups typically book at least a year in advance, so please respond to the poll found on this website, so we can determine if there is sufficient interest to go forward.

Prices listed below are per person (pp) (not per cabin) and include taxes and port charges. Single occupany cabins are approximately 50% more than the per person charge for a double occupancy cabin.   The best three options we found were:

Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas, (3 nights), July 26- 29, 2019, departs and returns to Ft. Lauderdale, with  one day stops in Nassau, and Pefect Day Cococay, Bahamas; Inside cabin pp $395, Ocean view, $575 pp, Balcony $605 pp.

Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas(4 nights), July 29- Aug. 2, 2019, departs and returns to Ft. Lauderdale, with one day stops in Nassau and Pefect Day Cococay, Bahamas and one day at sea; Inside cabin pp $495, Ocean view, $725 pp, Balcony $755 pp.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas, (5 nights) July 31-Aug 5, 2019, departs and returns to Ft. Lauderdale, with 2 days at sea and stops in Havana, Cuba and Cozumel, Mexico; Inside Cabin $552pp;  Ocean View $622pp.  Yes, this 5 day cruise to Cuba and Mexico is cheaper for an ocean view cabin than the 4 day cruise to the Bahamas!
